A free footy festival will be held in Maude Street Mall, Shepparton on September 29.
The festival will include football-themed jumping castles, face painting, stilt walkers, kicking and handballing competitions while the AFL Grand Final Parade streams live on the big screen.
The first 750 children to arrive will receive a free football.
AFL players and a football panel will be there to discuss the local community season and to preview the big AFL Grand Final the next day. Giveaways will be provided throughout the day.
Shops in the mall will be open, there will be a special concert and an appearance by a major children’s act to be announced closer to the date.
To officially launch the free footy festival on the day, a breakfast will be held at The Deck with two volunteers from every club in the region invited as a thank-you for the work that happens in community football netball clubs.
The festival runs between 10am and 2pm on September 29.
