Venues for the Goulburn Valley League’s 2017 finals series have been confirmed.
The elimination final and qualifying final (on September 2) will be played at Tatura Park and Mooroopna, respectively.
The qualifying final will be played under lights, making it the first final to be played under lights ever.
The other elimination final (September 3) will be played at Benalla.
A semi-final will be hosted by both Rochester and Euroa, on September 9 and 10 respectively.
As always, both the preliminary final (September 17) and grand final (September 24) will be held at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve.
While the venues and dates have been confirmed, the actual elimination and semi-finals held at each venue will be decided at a later date.
‘‘The board committed many months ago to playing a night final in 2017,’’ GVL chairman David Roff said.
‘‘We hope that by playing a day and night final within close proximity on the same day, it will help to alleviate the ongoing issue of clubs being separated, often by long distances, during the first weekend of finals.’’
In a change from recent years, this year’s Morrison and Wellman Family Medal counts will be held at the Shepparton RSL Club on September 18.
